What’s Up Runners! This episode is the fourth part in a five part series where we are going to talk about the facets of running. In each episode, we will discuss a different facet where we dive deep into a couple of habits that you can incorporate into your training model in order to help you perform your best and stay injury free!

In this episode, it’s all about sleep and recovery. We need to be at full capacity in order to train and perform at our best… This is why tapers exist! 

Today, we are going to dive deeper into specific sleep and recovery topics such as:

  • Active versus passive recovery

  • Gadgets for recovery (massage guns, leg pumps, red light therapy, etc.) are great, BUT, you need sleep, hydration, nutrition, stress management, and electrolytes to all be balanced for those gadgets to work!

  • Sleep hygiene and it’s an all day process

  • How alcohol affects sleep
